Rachel Cardell-Oliver is a Professor and Head of Department at the University of Western Australia, President of the Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia (CORE) and a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society.
She teaches cybersecurity topics including privacy, wireless security and professional ethics to students studying data science, wireless sensor networks and software engineering in capstone group projects.
In her multi-disciplinary research she uses ICT to improve our society and the environment. Her work on intelligent distributed systems has influenced practice in smart water metering, wastewater treatment, sustainable housing, public transport and environmental impact in the Australian bush.
